Dear Family and Friends,

If you wish to have your own  .pdf (Adobe Acrobat Reader) copy of this newsletter, please contact me either by snail-mail or e-mail.  I can attach a .pdf file to an e-mail for you, which is free to you.  If you want me to save it to a disc I will need $3 pre-paid to cover postage and handling . . . again please send your requests to me via e-mail or snail-mail.

For those of you that don’t have e-mail or internet access . . . you can go to any library.  You usually have to sign up for a time frame (usually an hour)  . . . and sometimes you can just walk-in . . . it doesn’t cost you anything.  You can view the latest Newsletter.  There is usually a fee per page to print. Ask the librarian to assist you with this!

Jim & I frequent the libraries (or Internet Café) when we are traveling.  We even pay our bills from the internet access at the library when we are traveling. Really, it is fairly easy!

This issue of the Newsletter is yours to ENJOY!

Jim has been busy organizing a family campout for June of 2007 . .

Fromherz Family Campout

June 24 – July 1, 2007

Ft. Stevens State Park

Warrenton OR – www.oregonstateparks.org/park_179.php

Over the past couple of years we’ve talked about a family campout.  So after some encouragement from some of you I’m going to start one…..  After the family reunion in June of 07, we’re going to end the reunion on a Sunday afternoon…..  Those who wish to join us…. Please plan to follow us to the beach for a week of fun….

In the fall of 06 I’m going to reserve a group of spaces at the beach in the “M” loop of Ft Stevens state park….. the “M” loop is one of the oldest loops in the park and is built up with trees around the camp sights… these sites are full hookups….. Water, sewer, electric designed for trailers….

We’d like you to join us for a week, to relax, sit around the camp fire, shoot the breeze, and do nothing but relax….

For those of you who have never been to Ft Stevens, its several hundred acres with a lake, easy walking to the Ocean beach, 15 to 20 miles of paved bike paths…. A nice quiet spot to turn the kids loose, let them play, and relax…

Our only plan is to have a community dinner (pot luck BBQ) each night by pulling several tables together, and sitting around the fire ring having a good time….  Otherwise you’re on your own to do what you want… team up with others to relax, walk, fish, fly a kite, bicycle,  just what ever suits you…..

Also within a few miles of Ft Stevens is Astoria, Ft. Clatsop, the fort where Lewis and Clark wintered on the Oregon Coast…..

Usually every night in the park a park ranger gives a talk on the wild life, area, Lewis and Clark, and all kinds of stuff…..

Important Facts:

Decide if you wish to go……  last date to sign up is Sept 5, 06

Dates to be firmed up – Family Reunion 07, June 22-24

Dates at the beach, Sunday night June 24th – Sunday Morning July 1, 2007

Do I have to stay the whole week? NO, stay as long as you wish….  One night, or all 7

Can a second Camper, Tent, etc Join me in my camp sight ? Sure, a second tent, or vehicle can join you in your sight….  Or 2 tents can be put up….  See Jim for details.

Are there showers, toilets, etc close by? YES, each loop has a set of rest rooms, hot showers, and play area for kids.

How do I sign up?  A $32 refundable deposit needs to be in Jims hand by 5 Sept 06.  With your money, you’ll need to provide your name, address, what your going to camp in, (tent, trailer, motor home) and how many people are going to join you in the sight, and if there’s going to be an extra vehicle in the sight….

Camp fees are now $26 a night with a one time $6.00 reservation fee.  If you stay 5 nights your cost will be 26 x 5 + 6 = 137.00.  A 7 night stay would be 26 x 7 + 6 = 188.00.  2007 camping fees haven’t been set so this is an estimate.  If you have a second vehicle, it’s an additional $5 a night… that means 2 cars, or a motor home and an extra car, it doesn’t mean a trailer and tow vehicle.

Refunds for cancellations can be made through the 1st of May 07.  After that date your money will be lost…..

I intend to call early in Sept, when reservations open and book a group of sights for us…. There is no guarantee that any 2 campers can be next to each other….  I’m going to book the longest stay people in the center with the shorter stay people on the outside edges of the group so the core stays together…

When I receive the reservation packet I will send you your copy, by mail.  You will be responsible to stop at the sign in desk at Ft Stevens and pay the balance of your fee’s, or if you wish you can do so by mail… and receive a pass that allows you to drive direct to your space when you get to the park…..

 Winnie Writes . . .

Hi everyone hope this finds everyone doing great. A lot has been happening around here I have been able to do some traveling. We found out that Judy would be promoted so Brian, Martha and I took a quick trip to Washington D.C. for her step up in rank. It was very impressive and such an accomplishment. I am very proud of her. This was my first time in D.C. even though we took a night flight we hit the ground running. We had tours of the White House, (they would not let us take any pictures at all)  The Washington Monument, The Capital, Pent. The Vietnam Memorial and so many more things.

In Feb. I was able to go the Hawaii with Mary and family, We rented a car and had a great time. I shared a room with Mike's parents. We were upgraded to an ocean view and it was a big room. We had so much in common we were able to go to many areas I had never been to before. The first couple of days we stayed down towards the end of the island. Then moved up to Kanapali  Mike, Brian and Travis enjoyed body suffering and playing in the pool.

Our final bowling for seniors is next Tuesday. We start again in September.

Art Jr. spent a lot of hours working on our place getting ready to plant a garden. Not sure how much I will plant but at least it is ready. I am also repainting my outside ceramics they have waited for 3 years so they really need it. Sanding and repainting takes a lot of time, but a real accomplishment and they look great when done.

That is all from here hope to see you at the family dinner and the reunion.

Love Winnie.

Rita and Roy Reichenbach in Wyoming  . . .

This sounds like a good recipe to me, think I'll try it and in the meantime, pass it on to some of you!  Love,

Rita Jo (let me know if you try it and do or don't like it...heck!  Just let me hear from ya, OK?!)

With fresh strawberries available in markets all year, this salad can be enjoyed any time-but it's best for a supper to celebrate springtime and sunshine-filled days! Serve with warm dinner rolls.
