Letter from the Editor:

Dear Family and Friends,

If you wish to have your own .pdf (Adobe Acrobat Reader) copy of this newsletter, please contact me either by snail-mail or e-mail.  I can attach a .pdf file to an e-mail for you, which is free to you.  If you want me to save it to a disc I will need $3 pre-paid to cover the disc, postage and handling . . . again please send your requests to me via e-mail or snail-mail.

For those of you that don’t have e-mail or internet access . . . you can go to any library.  You usually have to sign up for a time frame (usually an hour)  . . . and sometimes you can just walk-in . . . it doesn’t cost you anything.  You can view the latest Newsletter.  There is usually a fee per page to print. Ask the librarian to assist you with this!

Jim & I frequent the libraries (or Internet Café) when we are traveling.  We even pay our bills from the internet access at the library when we are traveling. Really, it is fairly easy!

This issue of the Newsletter is yours to ENJOY!   j0236214

Campout 2007:  Gale's, Robinson's, Russ Fromherz', (1st of 3 groups)

It is with much sadness and joy that we grieve and celebrate the lives of family; Kathy Cappetta, Alice Fromherz, Florence Gross and Felice Fromherz that have gone to their rest before us.  We continue to celebrate the lives of our family; our grandparents Adolf and Lucy Fromherz, Bill & Gladys King, Josephine & Tommy Reed, Charles Fromherz, Art Fromherz, Albert Fromherz, Peggy & Joe Fromherz, Jim Fromherz, Walt Fromherz, Marie Fromherz, Bill Fromherz, Wee Willie Fromherz, Betsy Fromherz,  Louis Gross, and Chris Holt.

I have added a Prayer Chain link to our Webpage for bulletins of family that have illnesses.  We continue to pray for all our family especially those who have been ill in 2007 and 2008 Kathy Martin, Mary Holt, LouAnn Silbernagle, Roy Reichenbach and Wayne Fromherz.   Today we celebrate Roy Reichenbach’s new liver.  Roy has been waiting for a liver transplant for quite some time now . . . and is currently resting quietly in ICU at Denver University Hospital.  We continue to keep in our prayer Mary Holt who is undergoing another Breast Cancer surgery Feb 16, 2009.

2008 was a BIG YEAR for us!  On a personal note, Jim and I celebrated our 60th birthdays in 2008.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Summa Cum Laude (that means a 4.0 folks!) and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Nurses Honor Society in May of 2008. 2008 marks our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

June 2008 brought with it news of illness of Florence Gross.   Florence did celebrate our Reunion Picnic at Avery Park with us.  She went to her rest in July 2008.  I am sure she will continue to celebrate our Reunions in Spirit in the years to come.

Reunion 2008 started off with a bang with the Cousins Dinner at der Rhinelander in Portland.  Then FROG began with breakfast at Elmer’s and golf at Auburn Golf Course in Salem on Saturday.  FROG was followed by bowling at Firebird Lanes in Salem.  FROG Trophy was Sunday starting with breakfast at Tommy’s and golf at Marysville Golf Course in Corvallis.  We finished with our annual Fromherz Picnic at Avery Park Thompson Kitchen in Corvallis.  We were able to get a picture of the 2008 Fromherz Seniors (Mary Gerding, Florence Gross, Winnie Fromherz, Margie Fromherz, Mary Fromherz, Eleanora Fromherz and their cousin Winnie Young Trump).  You can view the picture on the welcome page of Newsletter From The Heart.

I put together a slide show of pictures taken at the 2008 Reunion.  As there are 178 pictures in the slide show it is too big to send as an attachment to an e-mail.  I plan to put them on my digital picture frame to show at the 2009 reunion picnic.  There are some Great face shots of Ken Gerding, Allen Fromherz and a series of Judy Fromherz chipping the ball into the cup . . . watch Judy dancing in the background as the ball goes into the cup!  I will try again to attach this slideshow on the web page.  Again as it is so big and it tends to slow down the other pages on the webpage . . . I may not be able to post it there. . . I will let you know.

As I prepare for this 2008 Holiday Edition of this Newsletter we are in the throes of a Presidential election, and family news is sparse.  Holiday Wishes to all family from Charlie & Marilyn Fromherz, Russ & Marie Fromherz, Judy Fromherz, Mike & Mary Holt, Rita & Roy Reichenbach, Steve &Barb Guarracino, Louann Silbernagle, Wayne & Denise Fromherz, David& Libia Trask, Don & Barb Fromherz,  Dan & Winnie Trump, Didi & Joe Abbas, Daniel & Marylen Robinson, Mark & Marty Northup, Karen & Matt Fromherz, Br. Gerard (David) Gross, Louis and Trish Fromherz, Jim & Connie Gale and Klara Frommherz to all of you.  Many of you sent pictures which I will scan and post at another time.  Thank you all for your news of your families and your Holiday Greetings to family.

I haven’t heard much about birth announcement s . . . Michael (Mary Gerding’s Kathy’s Michael) and Shaleen Martin announced the birth of Mercedes Renee Martin on August 9, 2008 and Heidi (Jim Fromherz’ Jimmie’s Heidi) & Joe Specht announced the birth of Nicole Elizabeth Specht  on October 9, 2008.

Here is a  thumbnail sketch of 2008 Holiday Greetings . . . Charlie Fromherz continues to travel as a Pilot Car escort and has some very interesting stories with pictures to tell!  Don & Barb Fromherz enjoy their grandchildren, like to camp and travel to Hawaii. Judy Fromherz was reassigned from Washington DC to Vancouver, Washington August 2008 and is celebrating over 20 years in the Army!  Matt & Karen Fromherz share news of their young growing family.  Trish and Louis Fromherz now have kids attending college and Louis is driving long-haul truck.  The Denise and Wayne Fromherz family is growing, now have one at OSU.   Wayne did well with his October surgery for prostate cancer.  As I understand it, Wayne needed a physical for Scout Master for the Boy Scouts . . . found his PSA to be elevated, biopsy confirmed Prostate Cancer which led to his successful surgery in October 2008.   Thank you Boy Scouts!

I have changed my e-mail address to congale@live.com.  Thank you all for sharing.  Continue to watch the webpage www.fromherznewsletter.com for updates on family illnesses and 2009 Reunion happenings.

With much Love to you all, Connie & Jim  j0236214
