Hello all,

Sorry for the tardy communication, but yes, Dad passed away yesterday morning, June 14th, at 8:05 AM. 

He had fallen on Tuesday afternoon, was diagnosed with a broken arm at the emergency room, released to a nursing care facility where he complained of additional pain in his hip and leg and was later diagnosed with a broken hip.  Before we could determine a plan of action regarding that, he developed pneumonia and because of trouble breathing was readmitted to the hospital where he just took a nose dive and was gone in a matter of hours.  Thankfully, we had time for Mom, Claire, Jerry and myself to gather and attend Dad at the time of his death.  He had been alert until his final admission to the emergency room yesterday morning, so it was not a case of lengthy lingering on the edge of life.   

Bro. Gerard (David) is here now and Sharon will be coming tomorrow.   

A Rosary is planned for Monday evening, June 18th, at 7 PM in the auditorium (chapel) at the Mt. Angel Towers.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Church in Mt. Angel at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 19th.

Thanks so much for your prayers.  Dad led such a full life and as we get over the shock of losing him so abruptly, we are thankful for this opportunity to celebrate his life.
