FROG (Fromherz Reunion Open Golf) at Auburn in Salem
This
is the 2nd year we have played golf at Auburn on beautiful
Salem Oregon.
We
gathered for breakfast at Elmer’s; Don Fromherz, Charlie Fromherz, Mike
& Mary Holt, Jim & Connie Gale, Leonard Fromherz, Buzz Fromherz, Ken
Gerding, Tyler Gerding, Dick Gerding, Jerod Fromherz, Jeffrey Fromherz,
Alisha Fromherz & her friend Kurt – 15 of us in all!
While
we all had a great time we were nostalgic in missing our Seniors that
have played so many years, Walt, Art and Jim. Ken Gerding, Dick
Gerding, Rick Gerding, Buzz Fromherz, Tyler Gerding, Jeffrey Fromherz,
Jerod Fromherz, Alisha Fromherz and her friend Kurt, Leonard Fromherz,
Judy Fromherz attended this year’s Saturday FROG at Auburn in Salem. We
ALL had a Great time sharing and visiting, and playing golf of course!.
Alisha found herself in the sand trap, got herself out then back again!
I snapped a (actually it was several pictures in sequence) picture of
Judy popping the ball up from the green rolling into the cup! Check out
the slide show of pictures for all events (except bowling – I forgot my
camera!) of the 2008 Reunion.

Good Put Judy Fromherz – Yeah FROG! |
Fromherz Bowl - We tried out a new place to bowl this year, Firebird
Lanes in Salem. We had 8 bowlers and 3 observers in all – a smaller
crowd than in the past. Looks like Art got away with the bowling trophy
again this year 2008. Bowlers included LuAnn Fromherz, Judy Fromherz,
Jake Fromherz, Jeffrey Fromherz, Jerod Fromherz, Art Fromherz, Ken
Gerding, Tyler Gerding, observers included Winnie Fromherz, and Jim &
Connie Gale. Sorry no pictures . . . I forgot my camera!
FROG Trophy at St. Mary’s in Corvallis
Breakfast gathering sported Dick Gerding, Ken Gerding, Rick Gerding,
Tyler Gerding, Jim & Connie Gale, Jake Fromherz, Leonard Fromherz,
Jeffrey Fromherz, Jerod Fromherz and friend at Tommy’s in Corvallis.
Moving right along to St. Mary’s for the FROG trophy. Rick Gerding beat
out Ken by one stroke and took the trophy home for 2008. History always
repeats itself; Looks like we will again have a serious playoff match of
FROG Trophy 2009.
Picnic started at 1:00pm at Avery Park in Corvallis. All Senior
women except Margaret, were in attendance; Florence Gross, Mary Gerding,
Elenora Fromherz, Winnie Fromherz, Margie Fromherz, & Mary Fromherz.
Winnie Young Trump travelled from California (daughter of Aunt Dort King
Young). All Senior women shared stories with Florence taking the lead.
Winnie, Elenora and Mary all shared how this large family at first was a
bit intimidating as they were all raised as only children. Margie
shared how she fell in love with Joe’s children long before she fell in
love with Joe! We were successful in getting a portrait of the Seniors
this year. We were not successful in getting a group of all in
attendance.
Marylen and Dan Robinson and family travelled from Indiana. Many
familiar faces in attendance only we are all a year older . . . and
wiser. The food was GREAT, and plenty of it . . . LuAnn’s salad made
the hit list . . . and she was kind enough to share the recipe! Thanks,
LuAnn!
The donations bucket was passed around and you donated $116 in all. $50
of it went to Kathy and Dennis Martin for the reservation of Thompson
Kitchen @ Avery Park for 2009 Fromherz Reunion, June 28, 2009. The
balance went for renewal of web domain, paper, ink cartridges stamps etc
for the newsletter. Thank you to all that help support the reunion and
newsletter. Jim & Connie |
